RAY BRADBURY: THE NEFERTITI-TUT EXPRESS — Original typescript package, SIGNED. SOLD!, BRADBURY, RAY
1 BRADBURY, RAY RAY BRADBURY: THE NEFERTITI-TUT EXPRESS — Original typescript package, SIGNED. SOLD!
1976
Originally written as a poem and published in WHERE ROBOT MICE AND ROBOT MEN RUN ROUND IN ROBOT TOWNS, Bradbury saw the potential of the idea and wrote the first draft of a story in 1976, which he intended on expanding into a screenplay. Unfortunately he misplaced the story in his files only to discover it in 1990 when he sent the story to Harlan Ellison to see if he could expand upon it. The story languished on Ellison's desk until finally lost again! The story remained unpublished until finally brought to life by artist Gary Gianni and published in 2012 by the RAS PRESS. This is the original 19-page typescript, INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author with notations in the authors hand to fellow author, Harlan Ellison. Accompanying the manuscript is the original Copyright registration, a mock-up of the book by the artist (which was not used) and a copy of the final finished book, SIGNED by the artist. Bradbury manuscripts are rarely offered and few are in private hands — except for "The Bradbury Guy!" SOLD!

Glendale, Calif.: RAS PRESS, 2012. First edition. Staplebound in heavy paper covers. As new.
A wonderful little Egyptian ghost story that the author had designs of expanding into a screenplay. The author's last book, delivered to him in hospital he broke into tears exclaiming "A beautiful & fantastique book!" SIGNED by the artist. "In a ‘‘conversation’’ appended at the back of the book, Bradbury reveals that he got the idea for it from Warner Brothers animator Chuck [Bugs Bunny] Jones, who had stumbled upon the story’s central theme – that 19th-century British engineers crossing Egypt by train had burned mummies as fuel – in an article . . . Artist Gary Gianni has done an exceptional job of visualizing Bradbury’s story, with more than twenty drawings that give personality to the principal characters and that convey both the splendor of ancient Egypt and the grotesquerie of the pursuing mummy legions . . . Bradbury's parting gift to us all" - LOCUS review by Stefan Dziemianowicz. New in mylar sleeve with archival backer.

NOT by John Lennon, but a lovely intensely emotional poem by the noted Science Fiction writer Ray Bradbury, in which he asks: "If you were dead and God granted you one minute of life again. Which minute would you choose?" I found this one very moving. Ray could coax a tear from a stone! A PRESENTATION copy to his lifelong friend—Roy A.
