MARGINALIA is the earliest of the miscellanea volumes published to fill the "demands of our readers" for more HPL and more information about HPL. It's certainly a worthy addition to the canon including his Houdini rewrite IMPRISIONED WITH THE PHARAOHS, his revisions MEDUSA'S COIL, WINGED DEATH and THE MAN OF STONE by Zealia Bishop and Hazel Heald; two pieces of HPL juvenalia along with six fiction fragments; his essays on Dunsany, on the WRITING OF WEIRD FICTION and INTERPLANETARY FICTION and the many appreciations and salutes of HPL by Clark Ashton Smith, August Derleth, Donald Wandrei, Robert Barlow, Kenneth Sterling, Henry Kuttner and others. Also included are sixteen pages of photographs of HPL, his work, his study, and the various personalities with whom he became closely associated with - including Robert E. Howard and Clark Ashton Smith.A Fine copy with nice spring in the hinge; the gilt spine- stamping is still bright which is unusual. Very light trace of dusting to tops of page edges with a few fingerprints to cloth. One of the very nicest copies I've had in my forty years of collecting/selling. In a very- fine d.j. JOSHI: I-A-19.
