A "Coming-of-age" story of a tiny young woman's first year on her own after the death of her protective parents. ". . . my work has taught me . . . not to fret . . . as once I did, of being small and insignificant in body; to fear a great deal more remaining pygmy-minded and pygmy-spirited." Not a fantasy but certainly fancifully told. The book was considered a masterpiece by contemporaries with its publication and much thought of to this day, yet remains under the radar of many, no doubt due to the inability to quite, categorize it. A near-fine, fresh copy in better than very good d.j. The d.j., was cut too large for the book. Slight wear at heel of cloth.
