Rembrandt was one of the great masters and earliest practitioners of the "etch." This being one of the many studies he did of his mother entitled; Mother in Widow's dress & Black Gloves, printed by the artist in 1632. The artist must've taken great pride in this piece as it was signed on the plate in the upper l.h., corner. Measures app., 5 x 5-1/4. The etching is in v.g -. condition with a crease at the far upper right and a 1/2" closed tear just after the "Rembrandt." Not bad for nearly 400 years old! You'll want to reframe this to your own good taste as it is housed in a temporary frame and mount.
