I have always maintained that after HPL, the most important/influential author published by Arkham House was Ray Bradbury: Bradbury was the founding father of the California Writer revolution of the 1950's-60's, influencing those who intentionally broke away from the HPL and more Gothic tradition of horror; Charles Beaumont, George Clayton Johnson, William F. Nolan, Dennis Etchison, Harlan Ellison, and others who brought horror "into the light."DARK CARNIVAL collects twenty-seven of Bradbury's best early horrors, primarily from WEIRD TALES. Bradbury was a true Master of Horror, but as time went on he became more introspective, more "sentimental," four daughters take a toll on you! Two bumped corners; dusting at page edges, and the typically rubbed d.j; moderately soiled rear panel, previous owner's signature on verso of d.j., but a v.g., copy in v.g. -. d.j. And a nice clear Bradbury Signature. A very presentable copy of the author's first book.RMJ. 14
