A "Best Of" volume consisting of seventeen of his best WEIRD TALES containing his classics, and a twenty-one page introduction—a memoir actually—which is longer than any stories in the book; however it is well worth reading. An author better known for his long association with his mentor, H. P. Lovecraft rather than his fictions, but he grew to accept it, and wore that mantle gracefully. One of the most gentlemanly men you could ever meet. One corner just nubbed, a fine unread copy with remainder flecking (as every copy I've found in the ensuing forty years) at page bottoms; the dust-wrapper has a few snags and lightly aged and rubbed. Fine in v.g.+ d.j.
