Lovecraft edited this little chapbook of poetry from an amateur "oldtimer" of whom he was quite fond. Hyman Bradofsky, publisher of THE CALIFORNIAN and correspondent of HPL's told me that HPL "touched up" some—if not all of these poems." Lovecraft wrote a two-page introduction defining Dr. Kuntz's poetry, thusly—"often Alexandrine—. . . exhibiting apt and stately compound words sometimes coined with vast originality and spontaneousness." From the HYMAN BRADOFSKY collection. One of only three books edited by HPL. These early amateur publications are rare. Quite a nice copy, with Pink paper covers with string-tie still attached. Housed in a leather-spined cloth clamshell box by the noted book-binder Gray Parrot.
