Ramsey Campbell's SIGNED 7-page, 2400 word, carbon typescript of his story—THE END OF A SUMMER'S DAY, published in the Arkham House book—DEMONS BY DAYLIGHT. Additionally there is a postscript to the story on the typescript that was not included in the AH book—"As far as I'm concerned this is the most disturbing story in the book. It virtually wrote itself; the man went blind before I realized; Freudians may be able to read the code of the narrative and explain what was in my mind. Until then I suppose I shall continue to disturb myself." Three of the seven pages are a little faint because of the light carbon, but still readable. Ramsey Campbell manuscripts are virtually unobtainable as he donates all his originals to local colleges and libraries in Liverpool. A v.g., manuscript housed in a leather-spined, cloth clamshell box, designed and built by the noted book-binder, Gray Parrot.
