H.P. Lovecraft's first published book. Printed by the amateur printer, William (Hillbilly Crawford, as pseudonymed by HPL)Crawford, the book is really something of a mess, even for a rookie printer. The misspellings alone are unfathomable and terribly embarrassing to HPL, and even after preparing an Errata leaf, he discovered more grammatical errors later, but by that point he had given up. However the Frank Utpatel woodcuts are superb, and the printing of a dust-wrapper did help make the book more attractive. A better than very good copy of this poorly made book in nice variant state d.j. The errata leaf is present. A core book for your Lovecraft collection.
