Lovecraft edited this little chapbook of poetry from an amateur "oldtimer" of whom he was quite fond. Hyman Bradofsky, publisher of THE CALIFORNIAN and correspondent of HPL's told me that HPL "touched up" some—if not all of these poems." Lovecraft wrote a two-page introduction defining Dr. Kuntz's poetry, thusly—"often Alexandrine—. . . exhibiting apt and stately compound words sometimes coined with vast originality and spontaneousness." From the HYMAN BRADOFSKY collection. One of only three books edited by HPL. These early amateur publications are rare. Quite a nice copy, with Pi... View more info

The publisher/editor Ms. Cole doesn't date this issue but from its appearance I'm guessing, 1915. Lovecraft is only briefly mentioned and you have to dig to find it - in regards to an article he must've written re: "simple language" - "It rather amused me to read his (Brander Matthews) brief for the simplified spelling and shortly after Mr. Lovecraft's fervent denunciation of that famous movement (Populist) . I am wondering whether Mr. Lovecraft has read, "Other Days." I feel sure he would find Mr. Matthews defense most interesting." V.g. copy. Unfolded. String-tie still present. Nicely printe... If you're looking for a "one-book" introduction to H.P. Lovecraft and his fictions to give to friends, this be it. This HPL collection contains the very BEST of his tales, and even includes his novel—AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS. In addition his: HISTORY OF THE NECRONOMICON, NOTES ON WRITING WEIRD FICTION, SOME NOTES ON A NONENTITY, and CHRONOLOGY OF THE FICTION OF HPL. Terrific cover illustration by Ian Miller. This is NOT your old standard, lousy paper and paper-over-boards edition that we're all familiar with. This is a heavier binding, printed upon nice acid-free paper. Edited by An... View more info

H.P. Lovecraft’s complete unadulterated text brought to life by Francois Baranger with twenty-seven fantastic paintings—yes, I know it looks digital, but that's just the way this guy paints! The cyclopean monstrosity of Great Cthulhu has never been better realized in color. I rarely stock new releases, but this book is quite remarkable, and a great buy for the price. Book measures 11 x 14. View more info
